From Bankers to World Travelers: Our Story Unfolds

Six years ago, we first crossed paths in an introductory university class in Florida. At the time, we were just classmates, unaware that life had much bigger plans for us. Two years later, fate brought us together again when we both enrolled in the same finance Master’s program. Jack invited Alexia on a tennis date and our journey as partners in life truly began—it was the perfect time and place!

From even the earlier days, we shared a love for adventure. Weekend road trips and spontaneous getaways across the U.S. fueled our curiosity, but they only scratched the surface of what we truly craved: a deeper connection with the world. Having both experienced family travel growing up, we knew this time had to be different. This wasn’t just about seeing the sights—it was about embracing the unknown, diving into cultures, and making the world our playground together.

After graduation, our careers took us to Miami, where we thrived in the fast-paced world of high finance. Yet, our passion for travel kept growing alongside our careers. Two years in, Jack asked a question that set our next adventures in motion: "What if we made travel an even bigger part of our lives?”

That dream grew even bigger after Jack proposed to Alexia amidst the beautiful Grant Tetons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the summer of 2024. As we prepare to say "I do” this year, we’re also preparing for the adventure of a lifetime—50 countries, countless stories, and a mission to experience the beauty of this world as partners in both life and exploration.

The journey is just beginning, and we can’t wait to share it with you!

About Alexia

I was born in Bolivia but have always felt at home in many corners of the world. With family spread across Florida, California, Brazil, Bolivia, Spain, and beyond, I grew up immersed in different cultures, languages, and ways of life. Travel has always been second nature to me—exploring new places, meeting new people, and embracing the world’s beauty.

Creativity is a huge part of who I am. I express myself through my oil paintings and instruments, playing the piano, guitar, and accordion. These artistic outlets keep me grounded and allow me to bring emotion, color, and melody into my world, no matter where I am. At the same time, I’m highly analytical and have been building a career in finance in my hometown, Miami. It’s the best of both worlds—an intellectually stimulating field that challenges me, keeps me close to home, and opens doors for the travel I love.

Right now, I’m finalizing the last few details of our wedding with Jack, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world! Life is about to change in the best way possible, and I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes us :)

I’ve always felt a deep pull toward adventure. Raised with my mother’s Slovenian heritage and my father’s love for exploration, I grew up knowing that the world wasn’t just meant to be seen—it was meant to be experienced. Some might call me an adrenaline junkie, and they wouldn’t be wrong. I’ve skydived over Fox Glacier, scuba-dived in the Great Barrier Reef, soared over Morocco in a hot air balloon, and chased experiences that make me feel truly alive.

But despite all my thrill-seeking, I find my deepest peace in nature. Whether it’s hiking through untouched landscapes, watching the sunrise over a mountain range, or quietly birding in a new environment, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the world’s natural beauty and the stillness it offers.

Now, I’m getting ready for my next big adventure—marriage. Alexia shares my love for exploration and, with plenty of travels ahead, I’m looking forward to seeing the world through our fresh perspectives and making every journey count.
